1. Acceptance of these terms

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are an agreement between you and Chummi (“Chummi,” “we,” or “us”) governing your use of the Chummi app, the chummi.io website, and related services. By creating an account or using Chummi, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use Chummi.

2. Who can use Chummi

Chummi accounts are created and controlled by a parent or legal guardian who is at least 18 years old. A parent sets up profiles for their children, approves every contact, and is responsible for supervising their children's use of the service. Children may use Chummi only under an account created and managed by their parent or guardian.

3. Parent responsibilities

• You are responsible for the activity that happens under your account and your children's profiles.
• You approve and manage the people your child can communicate with.
• You agree to keep your account credentials secure and to notify us of any unauthorized use.
• You confirm you have the authority to consent to your child's use of Chummi.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to use Chummi to:

• Harass, bully, threaten, or harm another person.
• Share unlawful, abusive, or inappropriate content.
• Attempt to bypass parental approvals or contact users who have not been approved.
• Interfere with, disrupt, reverse engineer, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to the service.
• Use Chummi for any unlawful purpose.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or that put the safety of children or others at risk.

5. Content

Voice notes and messages sent through Chummi belong to the families who create them. You grant us a limited license to store and transmit that content solely to operate the service. We do not use your content for advertising and we do not sell it. You are responsible for the content sent from your account.

6. Service availability and changes

We are continually improving Chummi and may add, change, or remove features. We aim to keep the service available but do not guarantee it will be uninterrupted or error-free. We may suspend the service for maintenance, security, or legal reasons.

7. Privacy

Your use of Chummi is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle your family's information.

8. Disclaimers

Chummi is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that the service will meet your requirements or be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Chummi will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data or goodwill, arising from your use of the service.

10. Termination

You may stop using Chummi and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms or if necessary to protect users or comply with the law.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you through the app or by email. Continued use of Chummi after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
